Peak Awarded Two Mini-Grants

Peak Awarded Two Mini-Grants

Mrs. Ciz, a Math/Science teacher at Peak High School recently submitted, and was awarded, funding for a planned social, emotional learning activity at Peak High School.

Mrs. Ciz wrote the grant explaining that the Peak High School students often need a time during the week to work on their social emotional skills and relationships.  The following social awareness issues are specifically being addressed with funding from this grant: perspective taking; empathy; difference recognition; respect for others and relationship skills, which includes: communication, social engagement, and relationship building.  The grant will pay for painting kits for the students to work on during Peak Time.

Mrs. de Ryk, Peak High School Principal, also wrote a mini-grant to pay for earbuds for the Peak students.  Students usually bring their own earbuds, but occasionally, there are students who can’t afford them or have theirs stop working.  This will be a tremendous help for us to keep our students on track in their learning progression!!

Thank you Western Coffee Company and Woolington Agency for the generous donation in helping fund the Mini-Grants at #onePlatte1!!!

We appreciate it so much!
